The summer is busy here at National Frozen Foods, both in the fields and at the warehouses. Newly harvested crop is sent to our warehouses and to outside supplier warehouses. Maintaining proper temperatures is critical for frozen vegetable quality. That’s why we conduct rigorous internal and external audits of all facilities both inside and outside the National system.
“Not only are we busy filling the warehouses with inventory,” said B McDowell, Corporate Logistics Manager, “we’re conducting a number of audits required by our customers. Those will be complete by the end of September. We then conduct audits again during the busy shipping season to ensure there are no problems with shipping or receiving.”
Knowing what you have in inventory and where it is stored is really important, she explained. “Especially in years like this where supply will be tight across the U.S.”
